Mandrel is the main rolling tool during seamless pipe rolling process, and it has significant influence on product quality and rolling cost. Our mandrel production line covers the manufacturing of new mandrels, the reconditioning of composite mandrels, and the repair of rolling accessories, with a processable mandrel diameter ranging from 90MM to 520MM, which covers over 95% of the specifications of domestic continuous seamless pipe rolling mills, holds a market share of more than 80% in China, and has an annual production capacity of 20,000 pieces.The reconditioned composite mandrels adopt self-developed materials, which will not cause damage to the base metal and can be repaired repeatedly. The on-site service performance is equivalent to that of new mandrels. After the expansion in 2024, our annual production capacity has been increased to more than 30,000 pieces, with the maximum processable mandrel diameter reaching 630MM, and the integral tempering length can reach 26M, fully meeting the diverse production needs of different customers.
Our company, in collaboration with the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Tianjin University, has developed a new composite material with high temperature resistance, wear-resistance and thermal fatigue resistance. Currently, this material is widely used in the repair of mandrels and various rolling tools in seamless steel pipe hot rolling production lines. It allows for repeated repairs, significantly reducing rolling costs. With excellent repair performance under actual working conditions, the steel pipe rolling output is increased by 20%–30% compared with the industry average.
Main equipments: weld overlaying machines 62 sets, heating furnace 13 sets, turning machines 42 sets (including 5 sets CNC), polishing machines 3 sets, electroplating line 14 sets.
Using the independent R & D composite material, and combining with unique surfacing welding technique and solutions, our company can repair failed mandrels and rolling tools without changing original diameter . High performance composite material can guarantee the durability and reliability of repaired mandrels. Repairable rolling tools include mandrel bars, push rods, plugs, straightening rollers, piercing rollers, and V type rollers for transmission.
